What is Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy?

Bioidentical hormone therapy is a way to relieve many of the symptoms men and women have, that are related to hormones, naturally. Bioidentical hormones are identical in structure to hormones men and women make in their bodies naturally. They aren’t found in nature but are made from a chemical extracted from yams and soy. Bioidentical hormone therapy is also known as “natural hormone therapy” because the bioidentical hormones act just like hormones we produce in our body.

Are bioidentical hormones safer than synthetic?

Bio-identical hormones exist naturally in the human body. Your body doesn’t know the difference between the hormones your body produces and bioidentical ones. Synthetic hormones, such as Premarin or Provera are hormones found in animals, but not humans, or not found anywhere in the natural world.

I am a new patient, what do I need to have before my appointment?

Bring to your appointment the completed new patient paperwork. If you are unable to complete it prior to your appointment, please arrive 30 minutes early to complete the required paperwork.

What types of bioidentical hormones do you supply?

There are many different types of bioidentical hormones that we have available to our patients, including; estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, thyroid, melatonin and Pregnenolone.

How long will it take until I see benefits or results?

Although everyone is different, mean typically see improvement of systems in 4 to 6 weeks. Women can see changes within days, depending on the symptoms. The sooner hormonal balance is achieved, the sooner you will begin feeling more like yourself, again.

What is hormone pellet therapy?

A pellet is a way to deliver bioidentical hormone therapy to you in a sustainable way. Every 3 to 6 months a pellet made of bioidentical hormones is inserted under the skin. The implant consistently releases small doses of the bio-identical hormones for optimal therapy. This is one of the best, most natural ways to deliver hormones in both men and women.

What are compound medications?

Compound medications are prepared uniquely for the patient. The compound can be adapted to fit each person’s body and hormone levels and eliminate the need to take multiple medications. Compounds can be prepared for hormones in a variety of strengths, doses and forms, including: capsules, topical or vaginal creams, gels, foams, suppositories and drops.
